poliphiloDonald Trump isn't so very different from other US presidents, it's just that he doesn't pretend to be high-minded. If Hillary had been president she'd almost certainly have been threatening to blitz Syria too- only she wouldn't have used the language of the playground.
Trump has stripped his office of its dignity. Since the dignity was never much more than lipstick and blusher this may not be such a bad thing. With Trump we're seeing the exercise of imperial power in all its intrinsic ugliness.
Yes I know....but I'm determined to find something positive to take away from this present lamentable state of affairs.
