Confused

I'm told on good authority that Morrisey is actually an enthusiastic hetero. O, for gosh-sakes!

I thought rock and rock was all about authenticity. So who can you believe? Maybe Macca hates kids, maybe Keith Richards never took anything stronger than aspirin, maybe Boy George is happily married, maybe Cliff Richard sucks Satan's cock.

Ignorant here. Did he write gay songs?

Not exactly, but his stage persona is kinda gay. More significantly, he has always stone-walled about his sexual orientation in interviews and made a big thing about being celibate.

Morrisey

Are you talking about Morrissey from the Smiths cos I met his bass player the other day, he was playing in a wicked band called Proud Mary. The lead singer of whom i discovered is from Royton and went to that catholic school behind St annes. Very exciting!I am still very ill.

Yeah, Morrisey from the Smiths.

Our Lady and St Joseph's- that was its name, I think. The church was one of the ugliest buildings anywhere, ever.

Get well soon.

Funny coincidence, Morrisey is playing for five nights since May 3rd at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. A friend of mine from work tried to get me to go with him to the the show tonight (since I'm gay I must like Morrisey, he divulged) as he is a huge Morrisey fan but didn't want to go alone. My friend just moved to NY from India a couple of years ago, and he's straight and upbeat. Why he's into Morrisey, I find a cosmic mystery.

I was tempted to go. Not so much for the music, but to see what happens after the concert lets out when Morrisey fans mingle with Harlem gangbangers at 2 am. I lived on 122nd street and Amsterdam Ave. for the first couple of years here in the city, so I know Harlem pretty well. I imagine some interesting interactions will take place tonight.

My friend Judy, who lives in Brooklyn, has also turned down the opportunity to see the great man.

But my daughter Alice G (see comment above) just ran into his bass player. Some weird kind of pattern is emerging here, but I can't for the life of me see what it is.
