poliphiloChris has started turning up with bales of hay for the horses. And because they're eating dry stuff they're also drinking more- and I'm having to fill the water butt every day.
Julia mowed the grass yesterday. That'll be the last cut this year. Mind you, by the time the grass starts growing again we may be living somewhere else.
I've been sweeping leaves. It's a job that needs doing every day or every other day. I've worked out that if I don't do it small animals use the banks of leaves that collect in the angle of the patio walls as corridors for approaching the house. I don't want rats doing that for obvious reasons- and if shrews do it the cat catches them and is elaborately mean to them and I don't want that happening either.
