Fishing For Money

The Mail (bless) had a story about a mean old man who goes fishing for coins in wishing wells with a magnet- and I was surprised because I didn't think our money had any iron content. So I ran a test on the change in my pocket (it wasn't highly scientific- for that you'd need coinage of every denomination and of every recent year) and it turns out that the older coinage isn't magnetic but most of the stuff struck in the last few years is- only not the 20p pieces.

I wonder how much the mean old man makes from his hobby. I wonder if there's a living in it...
