Rolling Back The Years

Nadal v Federer in a Grand Slam final.  The last time was in 2011.

It had seemed unlikely either of them would win a major title again. Now one of them is bound to- and against his greatest opponent.

These things aren't supposed to happen in real life. Only they do.

I don't even like tennis all that much but find this totally amazing.

I don't follow tennis as closely as I did- but something like this really grabs my attention.

They have both shown, all the way through the Australian Open that neither of them is quite ready to fade into the shadows. I have my favorite of course, but I have enjoyed watching BOTH of them this time around. I just cannot bring myself to like the Serb, or the Australian with the Greek name.

And, hey, Yay, Serena Williams.

One more and Serena will equal the all-time record. I don't doubt she'll surpass it- because why wouldn't she?

I've never particularly enjoyed watching her- and always liked her sister better- but you've got to admire the achievement.

I think Serena is the most amazing athlete EVER. I do like her sister, of course, but I think Serena Williams is beautiful, and a fantastic player. She's also not a great sport when she's losing.

I imprinted on Venus when she was the only Williams playing at the top level- and rather resented it when her sister came along and eclipsed her.
