Fuzzy

I haven't had a cold in years.

I woke at four, coughing uncontrollably, so I got up, went downstairs, made myself a cup of tea and read a chapter of William Golding's Close Quarters, then, half an hour later, with the cough settled, went back to bed and slept through till eight.

It was a really pleasant, warm, fuzzy experience.

Compensatory.

And now you are fine, I hope?

I'm glad you found this pleasant!

I'm not wholly over it, but I'm a good deal better, thanks....

Ooogh I get one whenever I have a cold - and often when I don't. You can have my bronchioles.

Tea is good for coughing fits- that's the big discovery I've made in the past 24 hours.

How can reading Golding be a warm fuzzy experience?

Hope you are feeling better!

Ah but this is late Golding- and it's actually quite funny.

The first volume in the trilogy is very grim, but this second one- written seven years later- is quite different in mood.

Thanks, I'm feeling better- but these things usually take a few days to work themselves out.

Tea and honey, also one of those Sobé Liz Bliz drinks that look like watery milk and taste like liquid sugar. Yep, that's the ticket. And don't forget to eat.

Soup.

Today I have graduated to soup.

Lovely stuff!
