Me: Look at the way those fallen leaves have gathered round the drainpipe. What an unsightly mess!

(Fetches stiff-bristled yard rush and starts sweeping)

Centipede: (Scuttling for dear life) It may be an unsightly mess to you, but for me it's a habitat.

Me: Oh I know, I know...

I woke up one autumn morning and found that the entire path from the front door was covered in 6 inches of dead leaves. I resolved to move them that afternoon after work, but... When I got home they were neatly blown into a pile under a shrub where they were in nobody's way.

Also, I have some piles lying about that should have been chucked on the compost heap or burnt, but by now there might be things hibernating in them so hey; I can do that in the spring.
