poliphiloOur nephew and his family swung by today. My mother doesn't know who the children are but is surprisingly good with them. The middle child- the six year old- the one who never stops- was filling her lap with plastic fish and crustaceans and she was playing along.
"What's this?" She asks, not because she's testing him but because she really doesn't know.
"A puffer fish."
"A cuttle-fish?"
"No, a puffer fish."
He's not at all in awe of her- or indeed the least bit respectful. He talks to her child to child.
