1. The first time I came across the phrase "sky fairy" I thought it amusing, the one thousand and sixty third time I thought, "This person has stopped thinking for themselves."

2. We should be thanking the striking rail unions for pointing up the absurdity and wastefulness of a system that requires millions of people to spend millions of hours travelling to and from work every day.

In a wonderful piece of synergy, it seems that thousands of city banking jobs are under threat because of Brexit. That will relieve pressure on the trains.

Work from home, live above the shop, live within walking distance of the work place...

We've created a society in which all the work places are concentrated in urban centres where nobody lives any more. It doesn't have to be this way.

My father used to run an international engineering business from a village in Kent. It can be done.

I had to look up sky fairy on teh internets. Same kind of sneering superiority we get from certain pundits when they talk about the people in flyover country who do the dance of the sloping foreheads.

I spend a lot of time on threads where religion is discussed.

I have heard that term on Twitter. There have been studies, that say that humans are hardwired to believe in a god, so I think it's kind of futile to make fun of religious people.
