Just Give Me Some Truth

So, are the new emails nothing to get excited about or a game changer? Is Hillary so far ahead in the polls that nothing can halt her coming coronation or is her arrest imminent? I've read around and it's very hard to find a commentator or political insider who's not furiously grinding an axe. If there is a writer out there who is both well-informed about US politics but also godlike in their impartiality I'd love to be pointed in their direction.

You and me both -- and a lot of other people, too.

Strange isn't it- here's this enormous story- and no-one really knows what it's about!

I wouldn't call Craig Murray godlike or indeed impartial, but he is well-informed, and he tends to come at things from a different angle: here's his contribution to this particular debate.

Pretty much the way I see it. I will either vote Libertarian or, with extreme reluctance, vote for Clinton. I would prefer a corrupt but sane president to a corrupt and crazy president. Putin would play a President Trump like a violin.

Still not clear why people think she's corrupt.

The deleted email thing, for instance: what do you do after you read an email? She deleted them if she was done with them. You're not supposed to do that as Sec'ty of State, but she was already in the habit from the rest of her life.

Thank you. I like that article. I'll add him to the list of people I read.

There's an LJ feed at [livejournal.com profile] craig_murray, if that's any help...

Thanks, yes, that's very handy. I've gone ahead and friended him.

Those emails are regarding Anthony Weiner, who sent photos of his weiner. Hilary had hired his ex wife. She is not really involved with this.

It seems she comes into the business sideways. They were investigating Weiner and going through his wife's machine when they found some of Hillary's deleted emails.

No -- they MIGHT find some deleted emails. They have no reason to suspect that they will, but they MIGHT.

If you want to know what the effects are, go to Five Thirty Eight.

They can't tell you what will be the effects of things, but they can tell you what the effects have been. And, yes, Clinton's %to win has dropped. But it might bounce back.

Seconded - 538 is a good site.
