So, I have to ask - are there just no weeds in England? The pictures I see are always so nice and manicured, as though 2 millennia of gardening has gotten rid of everything unpleasant.
What you're looking at here are grass courts that are maintained at a pitch of perfection. Not everything looks like this. Our lawns here at the farm are full of weeds.
I rather like weeds, too. But down here nothing ever dies and unkempt land quickly starts turning into semi-tropical forest. We went toward the coast this morning for an estate sale and it just gets very claustrophobic for me. I think my Plymouth DNA likes less fertility and more order.

Personally I'm very fond of weeds.
