Britain is an unhappy country right now. I remind myself that I foresaw there being chaos and confusion after the referendum- in fact I believe I put it on record- but even so I'm shocked by the amount of fear and hatred that are zinging about.

"Zinging" is the wrong word. It implies lightness and swordplay. But fear and hatred aren't like that. They're dark and heavy. Think dun-coloured, fiery clouds roiling out of a blast furnace.

I don't think this will be over by Christmas.

Oh yes, I agree. The feelings of lack of direction, sadness at what we are losing, uncertainty about the future, anger at the lies of the politicians, anger that Cameron instigated this referendum are all seething inside me. Those 'roiling clouds' are in my stomach these days every time I remember the state we are currently in.

No point in being angry at Cameron. He's history. We can't go back. We're at this point whether we like it or not and have to make the best of it.

No point, but unavoidable when he comes to the Commons and makes jibes at Corbyn and his troubles. Cameron seems to have got over his shame at getting us into this mess.
