And The Same Universe Also Contains The Likes Of "Sir" Philip Green

We had a guy in yesterday doing some minor building work. Ailz handed him a wodge of notes-  representing what we thought was a fair payment for all he'd done- which included going to the shop for materials- and he handed a couple of them back. "That's too much," he said.

How often have you known that happen?

The more I see the news, the more I wonder if there is something really wrong with Britain...a detaching between a small elite and the rest of the country.

The elite get richer and the non-elite get poorer. It's not exactly a blueprint for social harmony...

Greed... I think you'll find that's "Sir" Philip Greed.

I once left 40K euro in cash wrapped in paper at a restaurant in Singapore. Yes, that was 40 thousand in cash, how I had it with me is a separate story and yes, I am an idiot. The waiter found it, took it to the manager and the manager ran after to me to give it back to me. He got me confused with some other guy who was sitting at the table outside a bar not far from the restaurant. A severe case of "all tall blond caucasian guys in dark suits look the same to me" happened. The guy he confused me with already had quite a couple of drinks too. The manager was very excited, handed the money to the guy with "Phew, I am gland I found you. This is yours and ran off". I came back to the restaurant 25 minutes after the manager came back after giving the money back to "me". I found the waiter who served me and asked him about it, he told me "Yes, I found it, it so lucky that the manager found you and gave it back to you, right?" My comment is already longer than your post so I am skipping the next bit. The manager and I ran out of the restaurant to the bar where he "found me". The guy he gave the money to was still at his table and was very glad that we came back. He told us that he looked inside and saw an enormous amount of cash and realised that it was some kind of mixup so he decided to sit at that exact place where he was given the money because that's the only way people who gave it to him could have found him when they realised that they made a mistake. The bar he was sitting in was a busy place and he had to keep ordering drinks for 40 minutes to be able to sit there. Yes, I did pay for his drinks.
