My Mother And My Father

We had to pick my mother up off the floor yesterday morning; she'd fallen while moving between her bedside commode and the bed and couldn't get up again. She wasn't badly injured- and by now she'll have forgotten it ever happened.

My father turned up in my dreams last night- looking young and with a shine around him. He apologised for not being in a position to help more.

Only he said, "We" not "I"- as if he were speaking for my mother as well as himself.

When he makes these appearances I never recognise him as dead.

I'm glad your mother wasn't badly injured. That's always a worry.

Your father was communicating with you...mine does in dreams as well. My dad always looks very much alive.

My mother seems to know how to fall. She came off a horse in her 70s without sustaining anything worse than bruising.

I see quite a lot of my father these days.

I dont see him in my dreams. I wonder if it's because he still around, looking out for our mother. He's still around the house, but never here with me as he never came to our house. Jenny x

My dad never comes around in my dreams. I think he did once not too long after he died, but it was definitely not any sort of comfort visit. More like, oh hey, different planes of existence, just checking in.

When you see your father in your dreams, do you ever ask him anything? Has he ever answered? In other words, have you ever got any new information during these visits?

Maybe. I think he's around. Or, at least, keeping an eye on things. He shows up in my dreams quite a lot.

My father's visits seem purposeful. He's the only deceased person who does this- or- at least- the only one whose visits I remember.

We weren't particularly close when he was alive, but we're great friends now.

The thing is I don't know he's dead when he turns up in dreams so it doesn't occur to me to ask for information. He does speak, though, as in this dream where he apologised for not being able to help more.
