From The Diary Of A Pyromaniac

Matthew brought us a load of wooden pallets. I've suggested in the past he should recycle them but he gave me cogent reasons- which I now forget- why that could never be. We added them to the eight foot high pile of branches from the tree he felled a fortnight ago- and I've never tended a fire that burned so fast.

Should have taken pictures really.

when I lived on Oswego Street,I had what I euphemistically referred to as a 'terrace garden'. I stacked pallets and arranged my plants on them. It was nice, in the summer - I could just turn the hose on everything and not worry about the pallets being 'ruined'.

That's a neat idea.

I could wish we had some use for pallets- apart from using them as kindling.

Aah, no photos? Such a pity! I recall from Guy Fawkes a couple years ago that just the little flying embers borne aloft by the flames can look quite special on a slightly longer exposure, tracing their course upwards. Let alone the fire itself, of course.
