Hurrah For The NHS

Ailz is having a minor op in a fortnight's time and yesterday she went for the pre-medical assessment at Tunbridge Wells General. Her appointment was for one o'clock- and she was seen- straight away- by a nurse who weighed her and measured her and checked her heart, then talked to by a doctor who sent her for a blood test- and we were out in the car park again before one thirty. I've never known a hospital visit be speedier.

The NHS is the butt of so much adverse publicity that I like to put it on record when things go swimmingly.

I agree. Giving credit where credit is due is a good thing!
I do the same for the Spanish NHS.

I've had a lot of dealings with the NHS in my time- and very little fault to find.

Couldn't fault them when I needed help with an eye problem a few years back and during my MiL's last illness which is the last recent experience either of us have of their services.

The NHS was brilliant- just brilliant- when my FiL was dying.

Glad things went well. :-)

Thanks.

When I have had bad experiences, they've invariably been the fault of other patients - usually buggering up the appointments system by not showing up or showing up late, or taking up unnecessary time by being drunk or entitled and/or not listening.

I don't believe I've ever had bad experiences with fellow patients- or if I ever did, I've forgotten.

I worked in the NHS once- briefly- a long time ago. The work may have been stressful but the working environment was fine.
