Maybe I could send you some of our red-tailed hawks.

Hmmmmm......

You sent us the $&^%! grey squirrels in the first place- they outperform our native (and much smaller) red.

I assume they eat squirrels.

I'm rather fond of this little person. We see a lot of her.

Nice photo! They are so acrobatic.

You'd pay good money to see an act like this in the circus.

Hey - I have that same feeder pole thing.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2015-07-07 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
They're supposed to thwart squirrels. Ha!

I quit putting food in mine when I saw a rat sitting on it.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2015-07-07 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
We bought ours specifically to deter rats but I think by the time we got it they'd already been deterred.
The application of Matthew's terriers and our cat seems to have done the trick.

I don't mind squirrels. They're beautiful, elegant little beasties.

I'm not a big fan of squirrels. They strip my pecan trees every year. And occasionally get into the attic. But I like them more than rats.

I hope they don't advertise that feeder as squirrel proof!

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2015-07-07 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
It has a plastic hood that stops them from climbing the pole- but there are other ways in.

Great! If you want to live - you will be able to turn round)))))

They're the most amazing acrobats, squirrels.

Mrs Squirrel Partakes Of A Hearty Breakfast

I know I'm supposed to regard her as a pest but I enjoy her performances.

[identity profile] pondhopper.livejournal.com 2015-07-07 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a really lovely photo! Squirrels are considered pests here in the US but I rather like them.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2015-07-08 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. They're considered pests over here as well, but I'm willing to indulge them; they're such beautiful animals.
