There was a cake sale on at one of the other polling stations in our town. Don't know if it increased turnout, but it made it far more welcoming than the school hall I made my mark in.

Pretty funny. Reminds me of the Midwestern Advertising Agency and Live Bait Store. (Letterhead an Organic Garden magazine advertiser had so they could get the 15% agency discount for their "1,000 hybrid red wrigglers" ads.)

I shall henceforth propose that the Electoral Reform Society offer free Scotch eggs to all who actually vote. ^_^

(Has there been word on what the turnout was actually like? Apart from overly xenophobic, racist, and hating of the worst off?)
