Judy suggests that the Presidential race in 2008 will be between Hillary & Jeb.

That's so dynastic it's practically medieval.

It's like the Wars of the Roses. Like the Capulets v the Montacutes.

It seems as though every political system slides backwards if let- towards such primitive institutions as monarchy and aristocracy and clan.

As George W Bush jokingly said (oh, but he meant it)- "A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier."

If my political party offers up Hillary as its candidate in 2008, it is doomed. It will never work, and they would basically be handing the White House to the Republican party for yet another four years.

I would hope that the DNC would have a more...electable...candidate on their political radar by then; one who would do a far better job than that poor sap John Kerry.

But Hillary? I think I'd have to return my DNC card if that happens.

It seemed incredible to an outsider that Kerry was the best the party could come up with.

Not that our British party leaders are any more inspiring. In this past election Tony Blair was opposed by Michael Howard- a Thatcher-era veteran with a ghastly track record and a marked resemblance to Count Dracula....
