Bright Side

I never thought I'd move from Oldham but then again I never thought I wouldn't. I've never consciously plotted my life.  And I'm always rather taken aback by people who say things like, "I know I'm not bright enough to be a bishop but I aim to be an archdeacon by the time I'm fifty."

I keep thinking, "Hooray, I don't have to worry any longer about securing a parking space on the street outside our house."

To be honest I think we'd become a bit stale. Relocating to Kent has smartened us up no end.

I felt rather like that when I unexpectedly got some part-time teaching at our local college. I'd resigned myself to saying I was semi-retired, but suddenly I was way out of my comfort zone and learning lots of new stuff to keep ahead of the students.

I think doing the unexpected is good for people of our age. :)

"Change is good for the soul"- as my father was fond of saying.

Same here only we moved in the opposite direction. I think I would like Kent.

You would. Kent is good.
