Unexpected

Yesterday someone posted a comment (an intelligent comment to which I replied) on one of my LJ entries for 2007.

Things happen.

It's nice to know that people are still reading old posts.

One of the suggestions for countering sapam comments is to close older entries: but every now and then I, too, find a comment on an old post, in which I've asked 'does anybody know about / recognise' this (often an anonymous comment, too!). We'd be poorer without them.

I wouldn't want to do that. I like the idea of old posts being open for comment.

I've been bothered by spam in the past but there hasn't been any for a while (touch wood).

A benefit of LJ over Friendbrook

Yes. Lj has a certain solidity

I get that sometimes, too. For some reason every couple months I get another reply to a review I wrote a few years ago for the 1935 movie The Ghost Goes West.

It's gratifying, isn't it?

It's nice.
