Two Minutes Silence
We took my mother to the hairdresser's today, which meant we found ourselves in Paddock Wood for the 2 minutes silence.
We joined the little crowd around the war memorial.
Ailz: "I thought you hated Remembrance."
Me: "This is different. There aren't any kings and queens..."
Ailz: "Or politicians...
Me: Yes.
As it turned out there weren't any parsons either- just members of the British Legion, shoppers and school children with their teachers.
The bugle calls came from over the road. I think they were using the PA system at the railway station.
