Okay, thanks. There's a Newark Castle off the river Yarrow near Selkirk that is one supposed location for "Her father's hall" in Tam Lin.

Built in the 12th century by a Bishop of Lincoln, garrisoned by the Royalists in the Civil War, besieged and then partially demolished by the Parliamentarians.
