Getting On With It

Sam says she should be able to complete the purchase by Christmas. That would be good. We would rather not be responsible for the house through another winter.

Hurricane Gonzalo (or what's left of it) has been passing through. Flurries of wind and rain. I wonder how my mother's trees are standing up to it.

I gathered our DVD collection off the shelves. It fills six black refuse bags.

Six refuse bags!! That is quite a few DVD's. Pray what will you do with them?

Move them 200 miles then put them on a shelf and admire them.

Ah got you. I just feeling a bit slow today. From north to south. Thank goodness (crawls under rock for feeling so stupid).

Not stupid at all. I should have been less ambiguous.

It's not been so very fierce down south. Blowy and a bit blustery but not really stormy.

The wind has been brisk up here, but that's all.

I trashed our DVD cases a long time ago in favor of those paper envelopes with clear panels. I write the name of the film, the principal actors if I care, the year, and the length of the film on each envelope. I reduced a three-trashbag collection to a linear foot of envelopes. Well, maybe 15"... (Edited to add: they fit in a shoebox.)

That's a good idea, but I sort of like to display them. I have a whole shelf (nearly) of Poirots and they look rather handsome in their matching livery.
