Ailz's mother worries about our house in Oldham. Lies awake thinking about it. Why? We don't.

But Sam could betray us and move her sister in and then what we do? Stop paying our mortgage and wash our hands of the whole affair. Load off our minds, in fact. Besides Sam is a mate; we trust her.

But what about all the furniture? Dunno. Cross that bridge when we come to it. Maybe get some house clearance geezer in. Then we'd have the fun of going round the junk shops in Hastings and buying new- by which I mean old.

For the time being we have a roof over our heads. It'll all work out.

And who knows. Maybe Isis will rise up and behead us all and everything else will pale into insignificance. Go on, Dot, worry about that instead. It's what Mr Cameron would want.

I thought you'd sold your house in Oldham, or am I getting confused? :/

Either way, its your and Ailz's problem - her mother shouldn't be getting stressed about it!

We have and we haven't.

A private sale has been agreed but the solicitors have yet to communicate- so things are in limbo.

Yes, it's our problem. My daughter moved house a few months back; she's an adult and I left her to it.

She probably thanked you for that - there comes a point where parental approval/disapproval is not needed! (I speak as I suspect I am in the same age range as your daughter - late 30s.)

Yes, Alice will be 36 later this month.

Ailz's mother can't let go. We're having to prise her loose.
