Persevering

My LJ rating keeps climbing and I am currently the 221st most popular blogger on site. I'd be cock-a-hoop if I didn't suspect that what this actually reflects is the exodus of the cool kids.

If I ever make it into the top ten it'll be because there are only ten of us left.

Ah well, soldier on! I keep hoping to post something that'll go viral....

I wouldn't know as I have all that nonsense firmly disabled.

The 'cool' I'd like to be right now is for this high humidity to drop for a while! :o)

It's the same way here - high temps today around 90F and the air VERY heavy. Last time this happened we had 4 tornadoes in the state when it ended.

Yes, it's been roasting this afternoon.

Well i, apparently, seem to be one of those cool kids who have reached the top twenty, alright pop pickers as Alan Freeman use to say.

Anime, celebs, all that sort of thing...

Well, I keep reading you.

(And because I'm so stressed at the moment that I need to be able to write it out under controlled circumstances - heavily separated from my dayly life - I have even started posting myself...

Thanks.

It's excellent to have you writing regularly again.

To be honest it's quite nice to be back. It's a safe space, unlike Facebook.

I've never done Facebook. I couldn't see the point. All that chatter, chatter, chatter about nothing in particular. There was nothing there for me.

You've got it totally backwards. The cool kids are the ones who are still here. :)

Yeah. Go us!

I like your thinking. ^_^

Indeed, I've never stopped enjoying LJ, though I have taken a couple breaks from it. It remains a cozy place, let alone the niceties like many icons, proper threading, and per-entry security. Twitter's interesting for the sheer scope of crossovers, but, it's nice to have something to actually read, rather than a single carefully trimmed sentence.

Agreed all around! Even though there aren't quite as many of us at there used to be, it's nice to know that there are still some folks in the world with a reasonably-long attention span. :)

Mine remains firmly near the bottom, as most of my posts are firmly Friends Only. The few that I do post publicly are almost unanimously spammed.

This is really just my journal... that I share with my friends... that I mostly have made here, on LJ. I'm not at all interested in having this journal become popular. If it becomes popular, I would have to start censoring what I say.

I know what you mean. It's very inhibiting to have readers.
