Escapology

For the last ten months or so the door to the rabbits shed has been held shut by a brick. My mother and I went to visit them yesterday morning and found Tolkien lying in the open doorway watching the world go by.

I have replaced the brick with a cross-section of tree trunk. He'll have to build up a lot more muscle before he can shift that.

I hate to keep them shut in but there are foxes about...

Never underestimate a rabbit.

Wabbits can be wascally. At least in cartoons. :-)

Not only in cartoons I assure you.

Back in the days when he was a house rabbit Tolkien once got stuck up the chimney.

Maybe he needs a door with a view.

He's got a roof with a view. It's made of clear plastic so he can see the sky.

That's one strong bunny!

I feed them well.

Too well, I sometimes think. They're awfully picky.

My friend's dog managed to open their front door and take a stroll in the neighborhood. That was clever.

Have they changed the lock?

[identity profile] wyrmwwd.livejournal.com 2014-03-24 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Maintenance came and put an actual "knob" on the door. Before there was a handle. The dog was able to pull it down and get the door open. A knob is going to be a little tougher.

It'll be interesting to see if it gets the hang of the knob. I'd bet against it but I'm not sure a really smart dog wouldn't be able to work it out. Teeth would come into it, I think.
