And The Consequence Was...
That Ailz has sent her mother a note telling her politely but firmly that she's not putting up with any more nonsense.

Good for Ailz. I hope it makes her mother rethink her priorities - or at very least back off a little.

I think the likeliest thing is she'll break off all contact. It's what she's done in the past.

Good! I hope Ailz can stick to her resolve because her mother will whinge and complain a lot about this.

If she does she'll be told to stop.
But the likeliest thing is she'll break off all contact.

Great! I hope her mother actually reads it.

It's a very brief note. Even if she only reads the first few lines she'll have gotten the drift.

I had a conversation like that with my father once. He opted to back off. Here's hoping.

One possibility is she'll back off so far we'll never see her again. She doesn't take kindly to being challenged.

Well done Ailz!
Sadly, this sometimes needs to happen.

Wish I'd done that with my mother. Good luck Ailz, it's no use, keeping on coming back to be punched again.

Talking to her mother-or visiting her- makes Ailz miserable- every time. She needed to put her foot down.

I'm glad to hear that. Family can be the unsafest place and I'm glad Ailz is not putting up with it any more.

"Unsafe" is putting it mildly. Family is one of the most dangerous environments there is- not in every case, of course, but rather too often.
