An Obvious Inconsistency

They've been telling us for years now that the only way to fix the economy is to practice austerity and cut the welfare state to the bone and now here's Mr Cameron saying money's no object when it comes to sorting out the winter floods and then offering huge sums to the insurgents in Ukraine.

Does he think we can't put two and two together?

I thought it was marvelous that the people of the Ukraine found out that their Putin-backed president was living in grossly unconscionable opulence. But this is always the way of Eastern socialism -- the leaders live in grandeur while keeping the masses poor.

My fear is the leaders who emerge will be no less corrupt than the ones who have been kicked out.
