Di-di-di-dee

My mother has an alarm clock set for seven each morning. Usually she knocks it on the head immediately but sometimes she lets it run and run- Di-di-di-dee, di-di-di-dee- and whenever that happens- as it did today- I lie there thinking, "This is it...".

Is she actually hearing it when she lets in run on like that?

Maybe it could mysteriously disappear...

I don't know. She may have been over the far side of the room making herself a cup of tea.

I'd love it to disappear. I don't know what she thinks she needs to get up for.

it sounds like its just a habit

ask her if the alarm doesn't go off
will the sun forget to get up?

it used to be the dog would hear the alarm
just as it started
it accidentally was set
the dog went off 5 minutes before the alarm
with his yelping it was just weird
then the alarm and dog went off at the same time.
???

Yes, it's habit.

We have an alarm set too but we don't need it because my mother's has already woken us.
