Carpentry For Beginners

The new bird table blew over in the night and broke. It was a very cheap bird table. I asked myself what Matthew would do- and poked around until I found a suitable length of wood, sawed it in half to make a couple of splints, then screwed them to the broken upright. The resulting bodge has a rakish tilt to it,  but I don't see the birds complaining.

As long as it does the job the birds will not mind at all

That's right.

You've mentioned a bird table before. What exactly is it, and does it come with bird chairs?

No chairs. None of the guests stick around long enough to need them.

It's a table for feeding birds. The one I'm talking about is supported on a single central pillar and has a pitched roof over the feeding area. These design features give protection against predators.
