Alistair McAlpine

Instead of talking about the organized abuse of children we found ourselves talking about the wrong done to the reputation of a single, rich old man. I have little doubt this was exactly what he intended. His huffing and puffing went beyond what was needed for the defence of his own good name and threw a protective cloak around a bunch of men of his own class and circle of acquaintance whom he must have known to be guilty.
