Damp And Mild

I went out this morning to feed the birds and found that the left-over seed on the bird table was beginning to sprout.

I nipped into Gravesend this morning and all the former very Dickensian marshland along the railway by the Thames around Denton and Stone had reverted and was full of waders and marsh birds. Groups of swans, even

It's been soggy and hasn't really frozen at all where you are so those seeds have all they need to sprout.

That certainly isn't good!
I saw blackbirds courting here yesterday but this is southern Spain and though it's early for them, it won't hurt them or their offspring like it might where you are.

I've been seeing birds indulging in what looks remarkably like courting behaviour. I feel I ought to go out and throw cold water over them.
