Autumnal

It was a dark and stormy night. At some point there was a power cut. We got up this morning and our alarm clock had lost time and was flashing on and off like a marker buoy.

Certainly was a wild old night here in deepest Kent!

Pretty wild here too over in the west of the British Isles.

Regarding power cuts, after a stormy night many years ago when a mini-power cut knocked out the radio alarm clock and left it flashing in a confused and useless manner, I always make sure I have a backup travel alarm that is set to go off 5 minutes after the main alarm.

I have a battery powered alarm clock too. Only thing is it doesn't light up in the dark.

Mine does, but only if you can find it in the dark and press the little button. :)

Never, ever, ever GOOD to lose power! But better in the middle of the night, rather than when awake...

I have a fear we're in for that type of winter, heaven forbid...

I've never spent the winter down on the farm before, but I know that getting snowed in is a real possibility :(
