Things The Jockey Club Might Like To Consider

My mother watches racing in the afternoon. Ailz and I monitor her from the patio.

Me (glancing through the glass doors): Either the racing is over or they're running underwater.

Ailz: Underwater racing would be good.

Me: You'd have to fit the horses with aqualungs

Ailz: And weights. (Thinks about it a while): You could have racetracks on cruise ships.

Me: That's a great idea. But you couldn't have them running in choppy weather. Every time the ship lurched  the horses would fall over sideways.

That's why they only have the races outside the cruise ships, so it doesn't matter on choppy days. Unfortunately they've not yet sorted out the aqualung issue, so they only do it when the ships are empty to avoid passenger complaints.

Yes, the cruise passengers might get upset about the horses going down and not coming up again.

Still some bugs to be ironed out.

You could have the horses run on treadmills and generate power for the ships.

An excellent idea.

The usual old problem with ploughing the ocean wave- the horses tend to sink! :o)
