The Knight Whose Armour Didn't Squeak
Sep. 8th, 2013 09:17 amYesterday afternoon (after tea in Cranbrook) we went on to Appledore- on Romney Marsh. This, mainly, is the reason I wanted to take a look at it.
Milne's geography is a little out. There are no castles in Appledore and no hills to build them on- but the Grand Military Canal goes past the door and- until the creek silted up, as creeks do- it used to be a port.
In the Church I found this...

Not Sir Thomas Tom, I'm afraid, but some glorious royal personage.
Bet his armour squeaked!
