Royal Heirs

So now there are three male Windsor in a line of succession that stretches either to the Crack of Doom or the end of the century- whichever comes first.

The royal birth took place in heavy weather and was followed by thunderstorms. Any augurs out there?

Now all they need to do is name it John.

How about Stephen? Or Rufus. Rufus is a nice name...

Stephen - wishy-washy, but I'm actually quite fond of old Rufus myself.

You forgot the full moon. My money is on Damien!

Do I hear the faint strains of O Fortuna?

That's a very pretty name.

It should be Prince Thor, then.

Excellent suggestion. I reckon it'd be a popular choice too.

Augurs?

Mediaeval folk would certainly have said so- bad ones too.

Darren?

What's wrong with Wayne, i'd like to know!

I think they should take a leaf out of Old Mr Turveydrop's book...

Prince-Prince. It works quite nicely if you add a hyphen.

George is much more suitable, since we seem to be returning to the Georgian era anyway - a vast gulf between rich and poor, social unrest etc...

How old do they usually get before they start walling each other up in the Tower?

The little Princes were in their early teens, weren't they?

Very trendy!

I understand the choice of George (sigh) -- the Queen's father's name. But those of us over here (in America) aren't very fond of the name King George (the name of the monarch when we were officially breaking off with England during our Revolution...). Hahahahahahaha.

I really wanted it to be Arthur, because I'm a romantic. But aside from the mythic king, that name hasn't done so well for English monarchs...

There's also the small matter that the last George, Prince of Cambridge, was a pretty dodgy character.

The Georges haven't been that glamorous a bunch. Two dreary Germans, a madman, a playboy (often characterized as our worst king ever) a crashing bore and a man barely up to the job.
