How To Make A Hearing Aid
Jul. 5th, 2013 09:12 amMy mother broke one of her hearing aids and needs to get a new one. We took her to the shop in Tunbridge Wells for a cast of her inner ear to be made. The audiologist took a scoop of green putty and a scoop of yellow putty and kneaded them together, put a tiny sponge in my mother's ear canal to protect the ear drum and then injected the putty mixture after it with a big fat syringe. She told my mother not to talk because moving the jaw distorts the shape of the ear. The mixture took about five minutes to dry.
