Bad Timing

I felt lousy yesterday and spent much of the afternoon in bed. Ailz says this wasn't a good time to be asking her what she'd do if I predeceased her. I said it arose naturally out of the conversation and- besides- what would be a good time? She said it cost her a night's sleep

I slept badly the night before last and Ailz slept badly last night. If only my mother could walk properly she'd be fitter than either of us.

She should have just told you she'd take your insurance and buy herself a boy toy - that'd keep you undeceased.

All relationships end. The lucky ones end in death. There IS no good time to bring it up, but it has to be talked about.

I have a will put away somewhere (I think).

I also had to sign documents giving power of attorney to My Partner in the event of my death or should I incapacitated by the surgery. We had to go over all that stuff... resuscitation rules, whether or not it was important for me to die at home or if the hospital was ok... everything... literally the day before my surgery. It could have been traumatic.
