A long slow Sunday afternoon like those of my boyhood. I slept through much of it. The horrors almost got the better of me at tea-time so I went and photographed irises.

The TV is tuned to BBC 1 and Songs of Praise which is celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Her Majesty's Coronation. My parents and grandparents were Royalists. I'm a Cromwellian.

I've heard the BBC promoting a programme called 'The People's Coronation'. Presumably it's part of their long-running 'Learn To Love The British Elite' series.
