Irises

A long slow Sunday afternoon like those of my boyhood. I slept through much of it. The horrors almost got the better of me at tea-time so I went and photographed irises.

I'm feeling better now. Just see how blue they are...



The TV is tuned to BBC 1 and Songs of Praise which is celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Her Majesty's Coronation. My parents and grandparents were Royalists. I'm a Cromwellian.

Lovely. The irises that is...

Being forced to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen's coronation against your will is not at all lovely.

I've heard the BBC promoting a programme called 'The People's Coronation'. Presumably it's part of their long-running 'Learn To Love The British Elite' series.

We don't have any flowers in our yard at home because the rabbits eat them.

Remember, you can almost always go out to the garden. If nothing else because of the weather, you can commune with the rabbits.

The irises are beautiful.
