Ailz has decided it's definitely Spring and therefore she's going to eat salad. I can't go that far. I think it's too cold to be eating stuff straight from the fridge.

So yesterday I made two meals- one for her, one for me. She had salad with a hard-boiled egg and cream cheese and I had a curry. Usually I put meat in our curries but since Ailz wasn't partaking I used potato in place of the meat. Ailz loves meat; I go along with her, but, actually, I'd rather do without.

Today we're meeting in the middle. We're having roast pork. She'll have it with salad and I'll have it with roast potatoes and apple sauce.

I'm with you on this. It is not summer. I have jeans, fleece and boots on, and rain stops play in the garden. Heating going back on NOW.

At least it's sometimes Spring. ^_^ I was out on Thursday afternoon, toward evening, to catch a bit of good light, in the hopes of snatching an attractively lit wildlife shot or two, and found several buns out and about - as on Saturday, quite a swing upward in numbers from other similar occasions, including some new tinybuns, always impossibly adorable.

If I felt hungrier, I'd be quite tempted to roll out the meats & cheeses for lunch. I was back on campus for one of the usual on-site meetings yesterday, and dropped by the town Waitrose, mostly to pick up a few notable ciders and beers, like Ermie & Gertie's Yarlington Mill & Pippin, and Bristol Beer Company's Southville Hop - but I also snagged some sliced smoked venison and duck, and pork and goose rillettes pots. =:9 The cheese, meanwhile, has been gently biding its time in the fridge, purloined from Neal's Yard, by the Borough Market - some quite outstanding wares on offer there, and knowledgeable staff. But, I can only really permit myself cheese on my diet's day off, typically Saturdays. You see the level of self-control involved? =:)

I'd probably have to go with Ailz on the curry. ^_^ That said, the housemate did prepare a curry from scratch a while back, purely vegetarian, which was indeed thoroughly delicious - normally, for me, a main dish isn't really complete without meat or fish.

Our heating has never gone off. I'm wearing a fleece-lined shirt.

Oh, yes, and it's raining here too.

I'm getting quite good at curry. I used to use recipe books but these days I just shake my spice jars- one by one- into the pan. Sometimes I use cream, sometimes I don't. I like to go heavy on the fresh ginger.
