OK, Where's Our Snow?

Most of the country is deep under snow but our corner isn't. We were promised blizzards; what we've had is the odd sprinkle. To be honest I'm feeling I've been short-changed.

A mere sprinkle here too even though they forecast quite heavy falls.

I suspect the met office is now guilty of constant ovestatement because they're afraid someone will sue.

They've cried wolf way too often this Winter!

Not just this winter. Didn't they promise us a hot dry summer last year?

We've had nothing. I'm relieved. It can snow tomorrow and Sunday if it likes, but I'd rather it didn't interfere with the commute, thank you!!

The BBC tells me the snow is moving north.

Ulp!!

Seriously, you should know better than to trust the BBC! We've had a few stray flakes today, but I believe it's the north and east that are getting it bad. For some absurd reason, all the snow seems to be getting dumped on Northern Ireland, rather than making it over to the west of Scotland. Believe me, I'm not complaining!! I've no desire to wade through snowdrifts when I'm out on site on Monday...

Well i was going to say we had not had any, but peeking out of the window just now i see some flakes falling

You're welcome to the three-odd inches we've had here.

Do you want me to mail you some of mine?

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2013-01-19 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure I'd trust the Post office to deliver it intact.

Same here, despite East Anglia supposedly being one of the watch out areas! The roads and pavements are clear and I could pretty much clear our car park with a stiff broom.

Six inches in my garden, and the A55 was one lane only for most of today. It's beginning to get patchy now - but we're expecting a freeze tonight

As an Aussie who can't imagine how cold your winters are, I wouldn't mind if I never got snow if I lived there. :D
