Finger Ends
Jan. 17th, 2013 12:01 pmYou'd think it would be a big deal to chop the end of your finger off but it isn't- not these days. We took Dot to A&E and they stuck the fingertip back on, wrapped it up, put her arm in a sling and sent her home. This morning we took her to the fracture clinic where they reviewed the situation, told her she could dispense with the sling and discharged her into the care of the district nurses.
My grandfather removed the end of one of his fingers in an industrial accident a hundred years ago (give or take a decade.) No question then of sticking him back together. I asked him what he did with the redundant bit of himself and he said he put it out on the window sill for the birds.

I never thought of letting the birds have it.
