In The Middle Of The Night

First you print the book on wooden pages. Then you burn the wooden pages. Then you collect the ashes on a little shovel and sift through them and read the book.There were three of us in the class and I din't think I'd be able to do it but the teacher was encouraging and I let go of my doubts and allowed my intuition to take over. The book was a novel about gangsters called toy boys.

I woke up coughing and went downstairs to make myself a cup of tea and wound up watching Kevin Costner's Open Range which is an excellent little moralizing, Cold War, western which builds towards a gunfight which lasts for half an hour.

I saw Open Range years ago in the theater with my father. I remember thinking how old-fashioned it was (in a good way). We both liked it.
