Every afternoon, just after lunch, we've been listening to Marina Warner talk about the Grimm fairy tales. Yesterday she introduced us to "Fitcher's Bird". It's a version of the Bluebeard story but with added oddity. My, but it's weird.

Part of my course I am on, is to rework fairytales - like Angela Carter/Company of Wolves. I found the Brothers Grimm fascinating, many gory moral tales to be had :-)

I'm going away for the Xmas period- and taking the Grimms with me as holiday reading matter.

What a wonderful idea - I will have to trawl through my books and lose myself in the truth about fairytales :-)
