Trick Or Treat

I had my bag of mini Mars bars to hand, just in case, but nobody called. I'm not surprised; it was a cold, windy, rainy night.

Same here in Kent, not a peep of anyone going round.

Did you have lousy weather too?

I think door to door trick or treating is on its way out. For one thing, it's too dangerous. For another thing, it is starting to annoy people. There is this one neighborhood in in the L.A. area that forbids it, because it turned into a big drinking party for teenagers. Go figure.

Here at school, we took the kids on a little parade to all of the important offices at the school where they got candy... during the workday.

I wouldn't be sorry to see it go. It has no roots over here. We imported it from the States and I've always found it a bit annoying.

We also had bad weather- but they came! Here, they only come if you leave a light and put up a welcoming decoration - and the parents dress up too

That sounds like a very civilized way of doing it.

We had a grand total of two and they live just next door. The rain they'd forecast never materialized but it was plenty cold and blustery.

There are plenty of kids on this street but they're mostly Muslim- and haven't yet caught the Halloween bug.
