Black Mirror: 15 Million Credits

Life's a succession of screens. You work in front of one. Your bedroom has screens for walls. Your choice is limited to changing channels- and you have to pay to stop the adverts. The only way out is to become a performer of the dreck the drones consume- and the portal is a TV talent show.  Authenticity is commodified, dissent streamed as entertainment. For those who make it there's a slightly larger cell with a better class of visuals on the walls.

Black Mirror is turning out to be really good. This episode- written by Brooker and his wife, Kanak Huq (both of them TV insiders)- has a strong whiff of autobiography about it.
