Usura

Thinking about the situation in Greece has sent me to Ezra Pound's poem against usury- Canto XLV

With usura hath no man a house of good stone
each block cut smooth and well fitting
that design might cover their face,
with usura
hath no man a painted paradise on his church wall....

And so on.

In old age- very old age- he said he believed he had mistaken symptom for cause and that the true name of the enemy was not usury but avarice.
