An Island of Sanity

"People in my part of the political spectrum...."

I thought of that as an opening, then paused- because I'm no longer sure where exactly that would be. I used to identify as a lefty-liberal but since the lefty-liberals became mad-keen on war and censorship and the WEF I'm no longer sure I can call myself one ...

So....

Revised opening....

I and some of my friends are pleased that the incoming PM has appointed James Timpson- the chairman of the Prison Reform Trust- to be his Prisons Minister.  Timpson is not only great and good but has made a point of employing ex-offenders in his business (You know, Timpsons, the shoe repairers and key cutters) . Prisons are his thing- so he comes into the job well-informed, and with a record for actually acting on his enlightened opinions.

Our prison system is a national scandal- and it's wonderful to have someone in charge who cares....

Edna says it's one of her things to look for "islands of sanity' in the all the noise and confusion of this age of transition- and Timpson's appointment is one of them.
