poliphilo | Darkness Visible

I had a dream, only it didn't seem like a dream, that I was surrounded by a cloud of darkness that prevented me from seeing anything beyond itself. The darkness was not so much an absence of light as a positive blackness- with a shine to it- like jet, like onyx, like coal. A while back- not a dream this- I became aware one night of a black, impenetrable shadow in the far corner of our bedroom. At the time I thought it would be good to over and engage with it- only I was too lazy to get out of bed. This dream seemed to be showing me what it what it would have been like had I made the effort.
